HAND-PICKED PRODUCTS
FROM THE ISLAND OF SAMOS
FROM SAMOS TO THE WORLD
The name of our shop is made up of the words Samos - the Greek island - and olive.
My husband and I purchase handpicked products from his homeland, directly from the hands of the producers, his parents' organic farm and their trading partners.
With Samolive we would like to bring a piece of Samian lifestyle into your home and if you have not yet visited Samos, the products might tempt you to do so very soon.
We have been a certified organic retailer since 2021 and are registered under the control number DE-ÖKO 007.
My name is Elisabeth Filippis and I look forward to helping you with any questions or requests!
THE OLIVE GROVE
Thriving in my in-laws' olive groves
over 550 trees. About half of these are Samian ancient olives, the so-called throuba, which are equally suitable as oil olives and edible olives. Many of the trees are over 300 years old. In addition to the Throuba, they grow oil olives of the Koroneiko variety, which yields a premium tart-spicy oil with low acidity. The stony soil and the diverse herbs and spice plants that thrive in the Samian nature also give your olive oils a very special aromatic note.
The olives are harvested by hand from November to February and immediately processed in the nearby oil press to ensure particularly high quality and low acidity. This allows us to give our oil the title "extra virgin".
In addition to the oil olives, various types of edible olives are grown on my in-laws' farm and processed with love according to traditional recipes. All our edible olives are sorted by hand, are 100% natural and without
colors and preservatives processed.
